How it’s made

Our cutlery is made by a family-owned business in Guimarães, Northern Portugal, a region known for generations of metalworking. The process starts with steel ingots sourced from within the EU, pressed and roughly cut from a handcrafted mould. Each piece is then carefully shaped and polished by the makers, and 100% of metal trimmings are recycled and reused.

Frequently asked questions

Will it leave marks on my plates?

Our cutlery is made to resist leaving the dark marks that softer cutlery can leave on matte ceramics. It is made from 18/10 European stainless steel with a semi-matte finish.

Will the Gold and Black finishes wear off?

Our Gold and Black cutlery is titanium bonded (PVD) for extra durability, so the colour is made to last. The coloured finishes come with a 500 dishwasher cycle guarantee.

Can it go in the dishwasher, and will it rust?

Forks and spoons are dishwasher safe, and 18/10 stainless steel is rust-proof and anti-corrosive. Knives need a little extra care: we recommend hand washing them, as dishwasher detergents can dull and mark the blade. Dry them straight after washing.

How does it feel to use?

Each piece is hand-finished in Northern Portugal and has a satisfying weight in the hand. Weight and feel are what customers mention most often in their reviews.

How long does delivery take?

Orders usually arrive within 3-5 business days. Shipping is free on orders over £165; below that, standard shipping is £10.

How long do pre-orders take?

We make our tableware in small batches to cut waste, so popular pieces sometimes sell out and come back as pre-orders. Pre-orders take longer than the usual 3-5 business days. We mark pre-order pieces on the product page before you add them to your cart, with the expected timing where we have it.
