Frequently asked questions

Will cutlery leave marks on the plates?

Like all matte glazes, our lighter colours such as Pearl and Ivory can pick up faint grey marks from cutlery. The marks sit on the surface and come off with a paste of baking soda and water and a gentle scrub. Our own cutlery is made to resist leaving them.

Does it chip easily?

Our stoneware is high-fired, which makes it chip and heat resistant and made for heavy, everyday use. Reviews often mention how sturdy it is. And with our Safe arrival guarantee, anything that arrives damaged or defective is replaced free.

Are the colours true to the photos?

Noir is a deep charcoal rather than jet black, Pearl is a warm cream rather than bright white, and Ivory is a creamy yellow. Because every piece is hand-finished, colour can vary slightly from batch to batch.

How big are the pieces, and will they fit my dishwasher?

Big plates are 26 cm (10.1 in) across, small plates 19 cm (7.4 in), bowls 13 cm (5.1 in) across and 7 cm (2.8 in) tall, and cups 8.5 cm (3.3 in) across and 10 cm (3.9 in) tall, a little larger than most people expect. Plate rims are 2 cm (¾ in) high, so they fit the bottom rack of most dishwashers, but some racks are tight, so we recommend measuring the slots first.

How long does delivery take?

Orders usually arrive within 3-5 business days. Shipping is free on orders over £165; below that, standard shipping is £10.

How long do pre-orders take?

We make our tableware in small batches to cut waste, so popular pieces sometimes sell out and come back as pre-orders. Pre-orders take longer than the usual 3-5 business days. We mark pre-order pieces on the product page before you add them to your cart, with the expected timing where we have it.
