Our story
We are a group of adventurers and explorers, tired of the current trend of mass production where things come faster and cheaper, and we don't know how it's made or who it's made by.

Far & Away began in 2019, when Albert and his co-founder Jacky set out across Portugal’s countryside to find the makers behind the tableware they loved. Today it is a family business: Albert and wife and daughter use every piece at their own table, from weekday dinners to long Sunday lunches.
The spark
A visit to a ceramics artisan in Portugal sparked the idea for Far & Away.
August 2019
We launched a Kickstarter campaign and got the support of backers who listened to our story and believed in our vision.
Today
